FORME

Objects with intention

A product gallery for a lighting studio, built around one configurable object. Finishes, illumination and construction are all explorable without leaving the page.

Objects with intention

The brief

What it had to do.

A studio selling one object well needs the object itself to carry the page. The brief was a product experience where finish, light and construction are demonstrated rather than described, on a page that still reads as a gallery rather than a configurator.

Design approach

The decisions behind it.

  • Porcelain ground with ink type, so the product supplies the only strong colour
  • One geometric display face at two weights, with technical labels in small caps
  • The object holds the first viewport; specifications stay aligned to a strict grid below
  • Signal orange used once, on the state that matters: the selected finish

Signature interaction

Configurable sculptural desk lamp

Finish swatches change the material and the selected-finish text together. A light toggle drives an emissive shade and a restrained bloom. Explore construction separates the object into its parts, each labelled in HTML beside the viewer rather than inside the canvas.

On a phone

Usable before anything loads.

Phones get an art-directed poster and the full page; the interactive viewer loads only when someone asks for it. Reduced motion holds the composed still and disables the idle rotation.
